EĞİTİM FAKÜLTESİ’NDE ÖĞRENİM GÖREN ÖĞRENCİLERİN İNTERNETTEN YARARLANMA NEDENLERİ VE KAZANIMLARI

Özet
Bilgi toplumunda internet önemli bilgi erişim kaynağı olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Toplumun her kesimi için önemli ve gerekli olan bilgiye erişim, öğretmenler açısından daha özel bir önem arz etmektedir. Geleceğin toplumlarını yetiştirmede başat eleman olan öğretmenin özellikle hizmet öncesi eğitimi sürecinde bilinçli bir internet kullanıcısı olması gerekmektedir. Ancak öğretmen adaylarının bu konudaki yeterlik düzeylerinin ne olduğu, internetten hangi amaçlı yararlandıkları ve herhangi bir kazanımlarının olup olmadığı konusu, araştırılması gereken bir sorun olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırma ile Eğitim Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin internetten yararlanma nedenleri ve internet kullanımı sonucunda edindikleri kazanımların ortaya konulması amaç edinilmiştir.
Araştırma Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi (YYÜ) Eğitim Fakültesi birinci ve dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinden şans yöntemiyle seçilen 369 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın amacına ilişkin olarak internet kullanım amaçları ve kazanımlara ilişkin likert formda anket hazırlanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesine ise Kay-Kare, Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis H testi kullanılmıştır.
Araştırma sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının bilgisayar kullanım düzeylerinin yetersiz olduğu, internet kafelerin internetten yararlanmada ciddi alternatif oluşturduğu, üniversite olanaklarının internete ulaşım olanağı sunmada sınırlı kaldığı ve genel olarak internetten olumlu kazanımların olumsuz kazanımlara oranla daha fazla olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

THE BENEFITING REASONS FROM INTERNET AND THE GAINS OF THE EDUCATIONAL FACULTY STUDENTS
Abstract
Internet appears to be as an important supply to reach data at the information society. Reaching the data is important and necessary for all parts of the society and it has special importance for the teachers. The teachers especially must use the internet consciously during the pre-service education processes. This is because teachers are the primary phenomena to train the society. Yet it appears as a problem which must be researched to what extent the teachers use internet, for which purposes they use internet and if they benefit of internet or not. With this study, it is aimed to identify the reasons for using the internet and benefits of the student teachers at the Faculty of Education.
The study was applied to the first and fourth class students (n=369) who were selected randomly at the Faculty of Education, University of Yuzuncu Yil. A survey was designed as a likert type to identify the purposes of the internet usage and benefits of internet. Chi-square, Mann Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis H tests are used for data analysis.
At the end of the research it is found that the level of the computer usage is insufficient, internet cafes are serious alternative for internet usage. It is also observed that infrastructure possibilities of the University appeared to be insufficient. Besides, it was found that the positive gains of the internet are more than negative gains.
